If this is global warming...

Then let's throw some tires in the fire and leave our cars running all night long! 15C (59F) on a November 27th? Yes please!! If winter would just forget to arrive, it'd be awesome.

Guess what I'm joining in January? I am SO excited!! I'm joining a Choir! It's not a church choir, but the rehearsals are held in a church. I have been wanting to sing in a choir for so long that I had actually begun attending services at some point, to see if I would fit in anywhere. But no... the only church choirs I happened to see were little groups of very old people. This one sounds SO cool! I cannot WAIT!

Laura from Smartest Loser is a member of the Chorale, and I knew she was in a choir, but I had assumed it was a church choir. The dinner last night at City Grill went really well. It wasn't as embarrassing as I thought it would be. In fact, it wasn't embarrassing at all. The only problem is that this is the second time I go to City Grill for dinner and that I dislike it. And this time, let's just say that I've visited the loo a LOT since I ate that stupid tasteless salmon. Their lunch menu is okay, but I give up on them for dinner!

Believe it, Be it

I received my Amazon.ca order today. In it was Ali Vincent's book - Believe it, Be it. She's the first female Biggest Loser in the world. She is amazing. I flipped the book open to read just the first couple of pages to see what it was like... and I just finished it. In one sitting. At work. I was captivated.

In 35 minutes is the Smartest Loser Holiday gathering at the City Grill. I am pretty nervous to go see them all, after having gained a lot of weight back. I would be more nervous than that but there is family crap happening today which is taking up most of my consciousness at the moment. I don't want to write any password protected entries during Nablopomo, but you either already know where you can find some of the story, or if not you can ask me privately. In less than 10 words : My brother is moving back in with us tonight. While we're at the SL xmas thing.

I can't wait to be at home after tonight's even and craziness, and get in my PJ's and watch The Office and laugh at THEIR craziness :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY AMERICAN FRIENDS!!

Busy for a hermit!

We've been quite busy for hermits lately. I really wish that I could multiply myself, or at least divide myself.. There is enough of me to make two people! One me could see friends, family, attend organizations, work, friends, family, businesses Holiday parties and the other me would clean the house, do errands, do Holiday cooking/baking, and go Christmas gift shopping. How do parents ever get to relax? On the other hand, because we have no children, people assume that we have all the time in the world and expect us to do more things for others. And we all know how I can't say NO.

I watched The Biggest Loser special tonight :Where Are They Now? Wow. I was teary eyed during the entire thing. That winner of season whatever, Erik Chopin? That's exactly how I feel too. I feel like having regained half of my 140lbs weight loss is a disappointment to others. I worry more about disappointing others than myself.

Taking The Risk

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't blog this last night.. I was probably really ripe for bed.

Last night as we're walking in the parking lot, on our way to the Stone Temple Pilots concert, I asked Steph if he has any inside pockets in his coat. He said yes, why? I said well, here, put my camera in your inside pocket since my coat pockets are already bulging with stuff - Blackberry, plastic card, pack of gum, 3 emergency kleenexes, keys and the camera.

Steph : "Pfft No!! If you want to break the rules, YOU take the risk of it being confiscated!"

Me : "Pft Fine. I'll take the risk. If they tell me I can't bring it in I'll just bring it back to the car."

I stood in line nervously, while everybody was being searched and padded down by officers, to get inside the coliseum. There was a huge garbage can between the officers where they threw out... whatever would't make it inside the show. She searched the 3 people in front of me in the line. When it was my turn, I walked up to the female officer, assumed search position, thinking "Shit, this is going to be embarrassing.".  She waved me in without searching me!

Steph got searched. Thoroughly. Haha! She took out the tin box of Altoids from his coat pocket like it was going to explode. She carefully opened it, smelled the mints, and took one in her hand to inspect it. Then she put it back in the tin box. Ew. She finally let him through, but it was kind of hilarious that he DID get searched like that, after being paranoid about the camera!

17 Minutes!

I have 17 minutes to blog before the clock strikes 12! So I think I'll go bullet style, it'll be short and sweet :)

  • STP Concert was *Awesome* !! We had fantastic seats!
  • Because my coworker M is going to Thailand for 2 months on Dec 2, we're having our office Christmas party on MONDAY! Already!! In exactly a month, we'll be having Holiday Fun!!
  • I love Kelly Osbourne.
  • 13 Minutes
  • My coworker S coloured her hair chocolate brown (from blonde) and she looks *amazing*!
  • 10 Minutes
  • 1 Minute
  • Okay I've got nothing.. I'm trying to unwind before bed g by watching "Dancing with the Stars" and it's entertaining hehe.
  • More tomorrow :)

Plush

Tomorrow night is already almost here! The Stone Temple Pilots concert yeah!!

I'm loving the ABC channel this Holiday Season! I just put A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, the Beyonce Concert and the Paul McCartney Concert to record. I'm also loving their upcoming 25 Days of Christmas movies! I'm so in the Spirit this year!

I'm so thrilled that we're doing Christmas here again this year. I've already bought 3 gifts, and I think I know what to get the rest. I'm hoping to convince Sophie to fuck embarrassment and agree to come to a Cosmos & Cranium (or drinks and Cranium) potluck girls holiday themed night!

I think I'm going to decorate next weekend. I'm also working on convincing Steph to come to the Santa Claus Parade Saturday :) Why is it that I always have to convince people to do things with me?

I think we've finally chosen a New Years Eve Party!

Friday Night Confessions

*** As I've said before, I'm addicted to Spitz Chili Lime flavoured sunflower seeds. But they are SO hard to find! All the other Spitz flavours don't even come close! So tonight we stopped at the convenience store on the way home and they had three bags!! I bought all three. Who buys 3 big bags of sunflower seeds at the same time? hehe. But now that I've seen that they sell them 12$/case on that website.. hmm... I wonder if they ship to Canada.

*** When I was in elementary school, our library was divided in 'grade appropriate' sections. Each grade had a row to chose from. If I was in the 4th grade, I had to pick a book from the 4th grade row. It was a small school in a small village. Remember when we used to sign library cards and stick them in a pocket stuck to the inside of the back cover? I used to chose my library books by reading the names on the loan cards. I chose the books that other people I thought were nice, intelligent or cool had previously borrowed.

*** Everytime that I see a clip of Oprah making her annoucement today, it makes me tear up!! I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Oprah, but The Oprah Winfrey Show has been there for so long! I'm really going to miss it. I PVR every episode and then go through them and keep the topics that I find interesting.

*** I had a moment of complete interior freak-out today when a client walked in at 2h20pm and told me that he had an appointment to meet with the Minister and Deputy Minister at 2h30. I had already booked the boardroom for another group, and they were in it. Nothing was prepared. And I was wearing jeans and a thin hoodie. (Jeans Friday.) I ended up calling the Minister's secretary and we realized that Mr. Client was 10 DAYS early lol. Phew!

*** My coworker S and I have nicknamed my period from hell - "The 5 Star One". Because I have 5 HUGE zits on my chin.

*** You know how you're supposed to add "In Bed" to the end of what your fortune cookie says? I almost always get the most unfortunate fortunes... Today we ordered Thai and at in the boardroom together, and my fortune was "You are often surrounded by true friends" - In Bed!!  LOL!

*** Despite knowing for a fact that some readers are not reading anything I say this month, becaue they are annoyed or overwhelmed by Nablopomo, I'm really enjoying this blogging every day thing. It's odd because I don't like being on someone else's schedule, but on the other hand, I feel like I have an automatic right to blog every single day for a month - without necessarily feeling overly narcissistic. It's the Nablopomo rules! It's really good for the soul to talk about the random things going through my head and dumping some on here. It's really cleansing.

*** I'm SO addicted to Burt's Bees original lip balm (The yellow cap.) that somedays I think about how panicked I would be if they ever went out of business or discontinued it. Even Burt's honey lip balm or pomegranate balm don't even come close! Would my lips lever be as soft and smooth ever again? I've tried other kinds, nothing beats Burt's!

*** Today I'm wearing festive underwear. It has 3 big glittery snowflakes on the butt.

On my toes

Today has kept me on my toes! This morning just before noon, I was sitting at my desk, ignoring work when in walks my boss! This is like his.. hmm, maybe 2nd visit to our regional office in the 7.5 years I've worked there. So you can see why that was a little bit surprising hehe.

At noon, my coworker Sonia told me that she was buying me lunch and ordered us chinese. (Pleasant) Surprise!

At 4pm, Our family doctor's assistant called me at work to let me know that there would be an H1N1 immunization clinic from 6-9pm at the high school in Dieppe. She advised us to go since we fall in the high risk group (chronic diseases). It 'only' took about 1.5 hours. Not bad. I have a hard time getting shots.. it makes me panic. (anxiety attacks). Steph was good at calming me down.

I was finally calming down, when the telephone rings, and it's my dad telling me that he's in town, stuck at the garage, and can he come over for the night. *gulp*. Spent 5 minutes piling up the messes so that it didn't look so chaotic, sprayed some lysol, plugged a plug-in, and now my dad is settled in the living room with the Golf Channel.

Oh yeah, and I was VERY surprised by who won America's Next Top Model tonight. (And I'm also shocked that I didn't learn who the winner was on Facebook before having had the chance to watch it!) I love how not spoiling shows via status is now common sense!

I'm ready to relax for the rest of the night with no surprises though :)
Did I ever tell you how I hate surprises? Honestly. I'm a planner.

Nobody Move!

Pumpkin: [Standing up with a gun] All right, everybody be cool, this is a robbery!
Honey Bunny: Any of you fucking pricks move, and I'll execute every motherfucking last one of ya!

I love Pulp Fiction

Okay this is not a robbery. But please, nobody move! And please don't do anything either so awesome or so terrible that it would necessitate the re-opening and editing of all your Christmas cards! I wrote, stuffed in warm fuzzies, and sealed 30 out of 40 Christmas cards today! Shhh don't tell my boss! No really, no one else was at the office. And so what if the Christmas spirit is tickling me early this year!? I even have one Christmas present (in two parts!) bought already. AND we already have our Chrismtas lights up on the house!! Okay okay.. they just stayed up ALL year since last Christmas.. I know I know.. shame...

Oh and thanks for caring about me. I'm feeling muuuch better. Here's what I just told Lulu on MSN and then copied to Brittany because I'm being lazy. i.e. Here's to more laziness.

Nancy says (10:44 PM):
My doctor gave me a script for painkillers (extra-strength midol ain't cutting it) and I think just having the piece of paper in my purse scared the hell out of my uterus. It's behaving now.

Tonight Guylaine and I went to eat at Subway and then we went to see "This is It" . It made me realize the level of amazing talent Michael Jackson was surrounded with. Wow! The dancing was amazing. While I was driving home after work, they were interviewing some band which was in town. I missed their name. They played a bit of one of their songs, but I didn't recognize it. We're fairly sure it's that band that we agreed to let the other half pass in front of us in the Subway line when they turned towards us and asked us nicely if they could, as their driver was waiting outside. They were pretty hot, but I'm sure younger than us. It was our pleasure. What's better than looking at half a hot band's asses while they order Subway? Looking at the entire band's asses while they order Subway. The guy in front of me had a pretty good looking sub.. I might actually break my RoastedChickenBreastonItalianHerbswith Lettuce, Tomatoes, Green Peppers, and Onions, salt & pepper and SouthWest Chipotle sauce eternal routine. He had a Ham/Turkey Sub with a little meatball sauce (no meatballs) on it, and melted cheese and veggies.... the best part : Sprinkled with Oregano! Yum!!

PS - You know that I'm kidding, if you feel the need to do something awesome, I will gladly re-open your Christmas card to edit it :)

Edited to add : This is the band! haha

Re-Edited to add : OMG I totally know those two songs, I sing them in the car all the time!!
